Helping KIN+ILK share their stories

We've been working with local coffeeshop KIN+ILK for a little while now and one thing we've learned is that they're incredibly passionate about coffee and community. From our initial conversations, they expressed the desire to create a newspaper to share their stories. Stories about how they support independent artists, encourage local events to flourish and their travels to El Salvador to meet the growers of their house espresso.

It was a pleasure to design because on one hand we were working with some fantastic photography, but there was also room for us to get creative with typography, paintings and illustration.

The intention is for this to be the first issue of many, so we designed the cover with that in mind. The fixed mast showcased the KIN+ILK brand, with fixed space for the issue number and publication name. It was hard for us to resist designing a cover for issue two.
